Math Update…

Our second graders will be using various strategies including proof drawings, show all totals and new groups above/below to solve three digit equations.  The children will experiment with the strategies and discover which strategy works best for them.  Our main focus is on explaining the steps that we take to solve an equation.   We are very excited for this adventure :)!

Art Show and Culver Night Approaching…

Coming up on Tuesday, April 24th the Georgetown Art Show will be taking place from 5:30-7:00 pm at the Hudsonville City Council building along with a night at Culver’s (Jenison location) from 5-8:00 pm. I signed up to be Culver’s food runner from 5-5:30 pm. I then plan to attend the art show to follow from 5:30-6:30 pm! If you can come join me at both these times I would love to see my amazing 2nd graders then! 🙂 We have so many amazing artists to celebrate and dining at Culver’s will be a hit too! Looking forward to it! Please mark your calendars!

Chasing Coral…

On April 20th at 7pm in the Main Campus Auditorium, the HHS environmental team is sponsoring a free screening of the documentary Chasing Coral for the community.
The movie follows a team of divers and other scientists on their mission to document the devastating effects the human carbon-footprint has on the creatures that live in the ocean – specifically the coral reefs.
The HHS Green Team (environmental studies) has put many hours into planning the event with the hopes that viewing the movie will have a big impact on people’s lives.
Below are links to the event (flyer and promo video).
